About This Submission
This was an old mining town, a lot of old western gun fights, murders and outlaws. Very cool old town. The old school always creeps me out. The bar/restaurant has a very weird feeling to it. Its in a remote area. It is said one married man was added to the population above Slaughter House Gulch by his wife. The cemetery is located above Slaughter House Gulch.
And this from the NY times
It is against the law to remove any of the rusting mining pieces that litter the roadside or even the occasional Chinese coin, Colt revolver or opium bottle that turns up on the ground.
IN truth, I did not get much sleep that night. Shadows and sounds filled the room as moonbeams and breezes from the open window bounced in turn off a Victorian clutter that included an embossed ceramic jug and bowl, a banged-up washstand, a rickety fabric screen, an 1840's melodeon, a worn dressing table with claw feet, a velvet-clad commode, a framed mirror layered with dust, the curved iron bedsteads, the heavy damask tablecloth and upright chairs whose worn cushions had been covered with paper-thin towels.
