About This Submission

I visited the French Quarters of New Orleans July 27th 2013. My husband and I went on the Witches, ghost and vampire tour, which I thought was going to be a complete waste of time. However, to my surprise it was quiet intriguing. Nate told us at the beginning of the tour; that if something makes you feel like you should take a picture do it, its probably a ghost. I laughed to myself and was like sure, whatever you say. The tour started to become a bit boring and I suggested to Nate, lets go to 1140 Royal St. I wanted to visit this mansion because of all of the stories I heard. He said that’s not part of the tour, but I will take you there if you guys promise not to tell. The group agreed and we went. When we arrived I had an eerie like feeling come over me and I said to my husband get your camera phone and start to take pictures, he looked at me and was like “uh no”. So as the tour guide was giving us the history of the house I just took out my phone said a prayer and started snapping away. Not to mention I was drawn to take photos of only a certain part of the mansion. It was not until after I stopped taking the pictures I looked at the photos and noticed white smears in one photo. AI asked Nate “what is this” he said that is the area where the little slave girl was chased to her death by Lalaurie and where the attic was located and where the blocked window was located; and that is probably the little girls ghost being chased by Madame Lalaurie. I then standing in disbelief looked at what time I took the Picture and then looked at the next picture I took after that that did not have the smears and the time was only 30 seconds apart. Then I further tried to recreate the image by taking the picture in different angles and different lights and I could not recapture the exact image or anything close to it. Therefore at this point I believed that these are the ghosts of that haunted sinister mansion and I captured it on my camera phone which still spooks me to this day. The crazy thing about this image is that this is not what I pictured ghost to look like. If you go to New Orleans visit this house and take pictures and see what you discover. It just might surprise you. This place is one of the top ten haunted places in America; I think its number 1.
